Pokes land second Centennial State recruit

A number of top Colorado high school football programs competed at the Wyoming team camp in June. One of the players that immediately caught of the eye of Joe Glenn and his staff was Dylan Kildahl, who hails from Ault (Colo.) Highland.
"The day before the camp was over, Coach Glenn pulled me aside and told me I had a full ride scholarship offer to the University of Wyoming," he explained. "I was thinking about it and I called Colorado State, Kansas State and Iowa. All three of those schools had been recruiting me.

"Kansas State and CSU both offered me a scholarship over the phone, too. So I kept thinking about it. I called Kansas State back and talked to them again but they just didn't seem as genuine about things. I have been to CSU a lot because it is just down the road and I respect their program a lot, but it just wasn't the right fit for me. Laramie felt like my new home, so I committed to Wyoming.
"I had a lot of people tell me I couldn't do it, so when I committed I got pretty emotional. I started crying and Coach Glenn started to choke up. He gave me a big ole' hug after I committed. The whole staff was real excited and before I left, they all gave me a hug or at least shook my hand."
At the Wyoming camp, Kildahl measured in at 6-foot-4, 240-pounds. He plays linebacker and running back in high school but Wyoming projects him as a five technique defensive end for college.
Kildahl has been a two-time all-Ault and two-time all-conference selection. He recorded 90 tackles, 13 quarterback sacks, four forced fumbles, one interception and one fumble recovery as a junior.
"The coaches that were recruiting me said they love my intensity and the amount of heart I play with," Kildahl said. "Coach Glenn told me he hasn't seen a kid with as big of a motor as I have."
Highlands Ranch (Colo.) High lineman Nick Williams is also verbally committed to Wyoming.
